Alienware’s 4K 55 OLED behemoth gaming monitor is now for sale
The new Alienware 55 OLED gaming monitor is now available for purchase through Dell’s website for a whopping $4,000. The massive monitor might be the size of a TV, but it has gaming features that you’d expect in a monitor built for gaming.
The monitor was first introduced at Gamescom 2019. It includes a 55-inch 4K panel, a 0.5ms response time and a 120Hz refresh rate. These specs line up with many gaming monitors that are aimed at desk users, but with a 55-inch display, this new gaming monitor could easily fill most living rooms. As an OLED display, it will show deep blacks and have a high contrast ratio that will help your games pop.
The monitor also has support for FreeSync, which helps keep your monitor’s refresh rate synced with the output from your PC. This reduces tearing and will help take advantage of the gaming monitor and your PC’s specs.
The design of the Alienware 55 OLED gaming monitor lines up with the new Aurora R9 desktop. It has thin bezels, a white exterior, and bias lighting along the rear of the device. The lighting can be synced with other Alienware FX-equipped accessories and PCs.
In terms of ports, it has a DisplayPort 1.2, three HDMI 2.0 ports, four USB ports, an SPDIF Audio line-out, and a headphone jack. It also has built-in cable management to reduce wire clutter. The monitor has legs, but you can also attach it to a wall or stand using a VESA mount.
The $4,000 price tag makes the Alienware 55 OLED gaming monitor one of the most expensive gaming monitors ever, but it is also one of the biggest monitors with these specs.
