After six months, the Galaxy A41 gets a new security update

The Galaxy A41 is joining the dozens of Samsung devices that have already received the January 2023 security patch. This aging phone no longer receives One UI firmware updates, but it’s still getting security patches on a biannual schedule. With that being said, a new update for the Galaxy A41 is a rare event nowadays.

Thankfully, you probably won’t have to wait for the January 2023 security update to reach your Galaxy A41, as the new firmware is rolling out in numerous markets simultaneously. It’s available in dozens of countries across Europe, as well as in Caucasus Countries and Uzbekistan. The update can be identified by firmware version A415FXXS2DWA2.

You can check our firmware page to see where the update is now available. And if applicable, you can download official firmware files for your region if you prefer updating your Galaxy A41 manually using a PC. Otherwise, you can open the Settings app on your phone, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install” to try to trigger the OTA update.

The January 2023 security patch fixes over 50 “High” vulnerabilities in Android OS (some of which may not even affect the Galaxy A41) and also addresses some issues with Samsung software concerning Secure Folder, Samsung Knox, and other features.
