Acer’s Nitro XV3 Series gaming monitors sport refresh rates up to 240Hz

If a new gaming monitor is in your future, Acer took to IFA 2019 with a new series that might be worth a look. The Nitro XV3 Series, as it’s called, is a range of four monitors that all pack speedy refresh rates and NVIDIA G-Sync. And whether you prefer to game in 1440p or 1080p, the new series has you covered on both fronts.

The Nitro XV3 range is split between two 27-inch monitors and two 24.5-inch displays. The two that are likely to catch most of the attention are the Nitro XV273 X and Nitro XV253Q X, which can push frames out at up to 240Hz. The 24.5-inch Nitro XV253Q P, meanwhile, comes in at 144Hz while the 27-inch XV273U S ratchets things up a bit more to 165Hz.

Here’s a look at how the lineup breaks down:

  • Acer Nitro XV273U S 27-inch WQHD 165Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV273 X 27-inch Full HD 240Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV253Q X 24.5-inch Full HD 240Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV253Q P 24.5-inch Full HD 144Hz

Each monitor is compatible with NVIDIA’s G-Sync tech, which will keep the frames pushed from your graphics card in sync with the refresh rate, eliminating screen tearing and jitter. The Nitro XV273X adds DisplayHDR 400 certification to the mix as well.

Prices and availability will vary across regions, but the Nitro XV3 Series will hit markets around the world through January of 2020. Look for the Nitro XV273 X to become available later in September for $470. The Nitro XV253Q P, meanwhile is expected to hit stores in October for $200. The Nitro XV253Q X and XV273U S are expected to launch in November and January, respectively, for $390 and $590.
