A leak has confirmed the Call of Duty: Vanguard worldwide reveal date

In what is likely the worst-kept secret of the quarter, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s worldwide reveal date has been leaked, courtesy of the PlayStation Network.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is the hotly anticipated next entry in the annualized shooter franchise, which has seen info trickle out in various leaks and rumors over the past few months. Very little is actually known about the game by way of hard confirmation, but we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be unveiled on August 19, 2021, 6:30PM BST according to a premature promo graphic uploaded to the PlayStation Store, we verified with our own consoles earlier today.

There’s no telling what the reveal will entail, typically we get trailers or teasers ahead of more in-depth information later on, as the hype cycle rolls on. It could include a launch date, as well as preorder information, as well as collector’s editions and other features. Call of Duty: Vanguard will join the most recent Call of Duty as a cross-gen title most likely, with a $10 premium “next-gen” version for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5, despite offering the same benefits on PC for free.

Interestingly, if you zoom in, the promo says the reveal will take place “within Warzone,” Call of Duty’s free-to-play battle royale component. Fortnite has been pioneering in-game events of this nature for some time, so it’s no surprise to see Activision jump on this trend as well.

Activision will also likely hope that the reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard can distract investors from its massive lawsuit from the state of California, alledging inappropriate work practices and unequal opportunities for women within the Activision-Blizzard family.
