Polar has launched an update to its sports watch range, with the Grit X Pro leading a series of minor updates.

Starting on the Grit X Pro, Polar has added scratch resistant glass and an FKM (silicone sport) wristband – and upped the price by £60, to £439. It comes in copper, gold and black options.

And it’s launched the Grit X Pro Titan, which boasts a titanium case which is 12% lighter for better wearability, for £519.

Elsewhere, the Grit X Pro is the same as last year’s Polar Grit X outdoors watch, which got a Top Pick award in our review. There’s 40 hours GPS, military toughness and 100m water resistance. It has navigation features (including turn-by-turn via Komoot), running power and training load data.

That’s not the only update Polar is launching.

Polar Vantage V2 Shift

Polar is also launching the Vantage V2 Shift Edition, which comes in silver and black – and packs a leather and sport band, which you can quickly swap between.

Polar is looking to make its sports watch a better all-day watch, and the idea is that the leather band will make it a little more professional, as we all leave our homes and rejoin society after the pandemic.

There’s also a new red edition, which will come bundled with a H10 strap.

There’s no other update to the Vantage V2 features – but the new Shift editions will cost $489.

New Polar Unite features

Finally, the company has also updated the Polar Unite. There will be new teal and red colors and a new software update will introduce a weekly summary of training stats, data on your energy sources and the ability to connect your Unite to compatible gyn equipment.

It’s not exactly a major revamp of the Polar range – but if your eying up a sports watch, the additions will make them more wearable and better all-day partners.

Polar’s messaging is about transitioning from the lockdown exercise world of working out in our neighborhoods and homes, and heading back out into the world. It’s better looking and more stylish devices are part of that push.
